Visa documentation plays a vital role in acquiring Spain Visa from the Spanish Visa Centre. Correct & adequate documentation are the pre-requisite of smooth Visa processing. It helps in avoiding any potential delay or rejection in Spain Schengen Visa from the Consulate. Therefore, prospective applicants are advised to go through Spain Tourist Visa Requirements before applying before for Spain Visa from UK. Also, ensure presenting proper & accurate documents at the visa centre on Spain Visa Appointment date.

If you are living in UK for work, as a student or as a spouse of UK national & planning to travel to Spain for vacationing or business purposes, you will be required to produce & present mandate documents in order to obtain a Visa to Spain.

Please note that requirement of documents may vary from case to case & type of the Visa applied.

Here is a list of some general & mandate documents required by the Spanish BLS visa centre to process the submitted visa applications.

A duly filled & signed Online Visa Application form:

Once you complete your registration via Visa On Web, the Visa application form with the bar code will be made available. You are then required to fill, sign & submit the Online Spain Visa Application form.

Also, take out a hard copy of the online Visa Application form as you will be required to bring it along with documents during appointment.

Original & Valid Passport of the Applicant:

The prospective applicants of Spain Visa from UK are required to present a valid, signed passport (original) & colored copy of passport’s page stating applicant’s personal details & photograph at the visa centre.

The applicant’s passport should hold requisite validity. It should be issued in less than 10 years from the date of application & valid for a minimum of 3 months from the intended date of departure from Spain. It should contain at least 2 blank pages.

Passport size photograph:

Applicant is required to attach 2 recent colored passport-size photographs to the Spain Visa Application UK with a paper clip. The photographs should be recent & older than 1 month at the time of application. These should be sharply focused, taken on white background & display all the facial characteristics of the applicant.

UK Residence Permit:

The applicant of Spain Tourist Visa is required to present original as well as the copy of the UK Residence Permit. It should be either stamped in the passport or in the form of a bio-metric card. The permit should be valid for a minimum of 90 days from the scheduled date of return from Spain.

Documents for EU Family Members:

  • Proof of relationship [Marriage Certificate/Birth Certificate (applicant should present both original & copy of the document)]. Please note that original documents are checked by the visa centre & then returned to you.
  • A copy of the passport or National ID of the EU National.

Proof of Occupation Status in UK:

  • Employees: A letter from the applicant’s employer stating applicant’s designation, date of joining & annual package.
  • Students: Such applicants are required to present an official letter from his/her educational institution in UK (British School, College or University). The letter should state applicant’s full name, details of the course undertaken, attendance record & holiday dates.
  • Independents: A letter from applicant’s solicitor, accountant, bank manager or local chamber of commerce should be provided at the visa centre. The letter should provide the proof of revenues, applicant’s professional activity & the starting date of the business.
  • Retired Employees: Such applicants are required to present original letter from the job center or pension service at the visa centre. The letter should be recent & not older than 3 months from the date of application.

Proof of Financial Means:

Online Spain Visa UK Applicants are required to present & submit a proof of sufficient personal means of sustenance to support their entire stay in Spain or Schengen Area.

  • Applicant’s Bank Account Statement of last 3 months. The statement should specify applicant’s name, address & an end balance date within the last month.
  • Applicant’s salary slips of last 3 months from the date of application.
  • Copy of credit card with the most recent credit card statement.

Proof of Transportation:

The Spain Tourist Visa Applicant is required to present the round-trip reserved travel tickets at the visa centre on Spain Visa Appointment date. These proofs should cover travel documents (flight, ferry or bus) to & from the Schengen Area.

Travel tickets should bear applicant’s complete name & correct dates of travel to & from Spain.

Proof of Accommodation:

The applicants of Visa for Spain are required to produce & present accommodation related documents (such as conformed hotel bookings, guesthouse bookings, rental apartments etc.) for every day that is to be spent in Belgium.

Accommodation documents must bear applicant’s name, address of the place of stay, complete contact details & correct intended dates of stay in Spain or other Schengen states.

In case, applicant’s stay is sponsored by a resident of Belgium (friend or relative), then an original “Attestation Accursed” should be presented at the visa centre. The letter should precisely define applicant’s entire duration of stay in Spain (or other Schengen countries).

Travel Insurance Certificate:

The applicant is required to present the original document & copy of the travel insurance certificate at the Spanish visa centre. The certificate should be valid for all the Schengen member states. It is required to cover applicant’s complete duration of stay in Spain (or other Schengen member states).

The insurance should cover any emergency medical care expenses or emergency repatriation. It must have a minimum insurance cover of EUR 30,000.

Documents concerning the minors (Original & Copy):

  • Birth Certificate
  • Copy of passports of the parents/legal guardians
  • Authorization letter signed by both the parents

Visa Application for the minors traveling to Spain from UK should be signed by both the parents.

Please Note:
  1. Avoid stapling the documents.
  2. All the mandate documents to be presented at the visa centre must be either in English or Spanish or duly translated in the said languages. A certified & professional translator should translate the documents in the required languages.
  3. Spain Visa Applications are not to be submitted or filled more than 3 months before the intended date of travel to Schengen Zone.
